- A 13 inch minimum length is required (from tip to tip).
- If an undersized fish is brought in, a penalty of 1 pound will be enforced. A measuring box will be used to measure each teams smallest fish.
- Total weight of 5 fish (large or small mouth bass only).
- Tournament time: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weigh-in opens at 4:00 p.m.
- You may compete alone or as a team of 2 anglers per boat.
- Your boat must be insured and have liability coverage. You must provide this information on the registration form; your policy # and name of your insurance company.
- Life jackets must be worn while under power of main engine and kill switch cord attached to you.
- Live wells are mandatory and must be in working order (must have an aerator).
- Artificial lures only. No live or dead bait or preserved baits allowed (pork rind allowed).
- Landing nets are allowed and you must provide your own weigh-in bag.
- A fish must be alive and able to swim away on it’s own to qualify for the Big Fish Prize pool.
- You may only win one Big Fish Prize per team.
- No pre-fishing 10 hours before the start of the tournament.
- A boat may not come to shore during the tournament. Exceptions: thunderstorm or washroom duties, which you must find a remote location while respecting private property (away from a building structure or dock).
- You may come to shore at the tournament launch site anytime without penalty for any reason.
- You may not have more than 5 fish on board at any time. Your 6th fish must be culled immediately. A 1 pound penalty will be imposed for each extra fish found on board.
- There will be a half pound penalty for each dead fish brought in. The penalty will be applied against the total catch. If a fish cannot swim away on it’s own even though it’s breathing, it’s dead. You have 5 minutes to revive it..
- Culling of a dead fish will be allowed as long as you keep the dead fish in a bag elsewhere on the boat and not in your livewell.
- Any navigable water accessible from the boat launch is fair water. Anglers cannot get out of the boat to overcome any obstacle.
- You may use the locks on any body of water except the St Lawrence River, as long as you already have your lock pass. You must show your pass when registering for the tournament to inform the Tournament Director of your intent.
- Boats will be inspected for compliance of regulations at launch time. The Tournament Director can inspect your boat at anytime during the tournament.
- A 1 pound penalty will be issued for each minute that a team arrives later than 4:00 p.m. and you are also disqualified from the Big Fish prizes. No exceptions for being late (breakdown, out of gas, lost etc.).
- You cannot transfer your fish to another boat in the event of a breakdown.
- Blastoff is in order of registration. At 7:00a.m. your number will be called and you must proceed as indicated by the Tournament Director.
- The use of cell phones or other electronic communication devices is prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification. Allowable exception is a distress call to the Tournament Director.
- The Weigh Master has total authorization over the entire weigh-in procedure.
- You may request a second weigh-in and that reading will become your official weight.
- You may not come into contact or exchange any item with another boat during the tournament, may it be tackle, fish, food, ect. Exception to this rule as defined in the boating regulations is you must assist a boat in distress. It is recommended, if possible to call and inform the Tournament Director.
- No alcoholic beverages allowed on board at anytime.
- Prizes shall be awarded on a pure weight basis, minus penalties. All prizes are awarded as team prizes.
- In the even of a tie, the prize money will be pooled together with the next lowest position and split equally.
- In the event of heavy fog, the start of the tournament will be delayed until visibility returns to a safe level. The tournament end time will not be extended.
- Failure to NOT follow all rules listed above or government fishing or boating regulation will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament. This includes any violation you get charged with from a conservation or police officer.
- After your fish have been weighed in they must be returned to your boat and released at least 300 yards from the launch area. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Do not dump your fish at the launch area.
- For the Muskrat Lake event anyone wishing to travel into Mud Lake (west end), must come off plane and travel at a speed of 10 mph from the mouth of the river to the mouth of Mud Lake. The same applies when returning from Mud Lake.
